Republic Day was celebrated in a grand
way in the school premises in the assembly hall by the
staff and the students of the school during the morning
hours. The celebration started with a speech by the
head boy Ishaan Saxena of Class VIII on the importance
of the day and a vivid description of how it is celebrated
in our country. This speech was followed by speeches
of freedom fighters by various students. Snehal of Class
III spoke about Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Mridul about
Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Ajay about Bhagat Singh, Tanya
about Rani Laxmibai, Ananya about Rani Laxmibai, Khushi
about Bal Gangadhar Tilak and lastly Joshua briefed
us about Subhash Chandra Bose. This was followed by
a patriotic song by six children from the school choir
‘’Sare Jahan Se Achcha………………..”.
After this we had another patriotic speech by Mrs. Jyoti
the social Studies teacher who enlightened us with the
importance of the day. The programme ended with a song
“A Vatan A Vatan……………………………………”
by all the teachers of the school . This was followed
by a breakfast of tri coloured sandwiches and fruit
juice was served to the students.
