Appeal To The Parents

A child's education is an undertaking of utmost responsibility in which both the parents and the school are equal partners.

Please do not ignore your role in this partnership. Visit the school from time to time to interact with the teachers of your child and communicate with them as frequently as you can. Give your feed-back without any reservations or hesitation, but try to be objective, impartial and fair in the interest of the entire parent-school community.

Please visit our website www.allianceworldschool.in from time to time to keep abreast of happenings in the school and to keep track of your child's progress in the school. Our website is interactive and offers the community a number of facilities regarding various school-related matters.

Please co-operate with the School in the implementation of educational programmes planned by the School from time to time in its effort to make learning a fruitful and joyous experience for your child. For example, we believe in keeping the child free from the stresses and strains of scholastic achievement, especially in the early years, and do not burden them with mindless and tedious home-work. Please do not function at variance with this educational objective which is based on reality check of children's psychology in the modern age and to curb some people's over-ambitions about their child's career which, more often than not, proves detrimental to the child's psychological health.
Please ensure that your child attends the school regularly, is punctual in reaching the school, has a healthy peer group at home and is given medical care and nutritional food on regular basis. Please check frequently whether his clothes, hair and nails etc are clean and in good shape. Please allow your child to have controlled access to the Internet but make sure that she/he does not evolve into an online games junky and uses the facility only for enhancing her/his existing level of knowledge, skills and understanding.

Please speak the languages at home in their civilized and correct forms, avoid using swear words in the children's presence, read frequently to the younger children who cannot read yet, take them on nature walks, get them involved in picking up a sport of their choice and gaining competencies in it, work on their manners and desirable social behaviour and do not give them money in large or even small sums without actually verifying why they need that amount of money.

Last but not the least, build their self-esteem and protect them from abuse in any form by being extra vigilant.

We wish your child a bright and successful life ahead of her/him.

Let us join hands in shaping our children into the ideal citizens of a global world.

Merit-Based Scholarship

To value and acknowledge our brighter students, school runs a Scholarship programme. This honour is offered in terms of Tuition Fee waiver.

School Rules and Regulations

The administration and teachers of AWS believe that students commit themselves to learning, accepting responsibility for their work and their behaviour. Our goal is to instil qualities such as common courtesy, manners, respect for others, self-discipline, responsibility and accountability.
We expect students to behave responsibly, recognizing the rights of others to be physically safe, emotionally secure and to pursue their own learning without interference. The AWS administration, teachers and parents need to work together to help children to respect rules. Teachers and parents have a tremendous positive influence when setting clearly defined limits, providing appropriate consequences for behaviour.

The following school rules and regulation apply to students actions at all times when under the supervision and guidance of school personnel. Please read these policies over very carefully, and discuss them with your children.

Arrival

Students must be in school 5 minutes before the Assembly bell at 7:55 a.m.

Assembly

School assembly is held regularly.  Assembly is followed by National Anthem. Students must be present at assembly.

Student behaviour

In the school premises, students should:

Be punctual for school and for individual classes. In senior classes, where students move between classes, every effort should be made to arrive punctually.

Picking up / dropping off students

Drivers picking up and dropping off students must queue in a single line at the gates.

Drivers should not double park or use the horn (unless to avoid an accident.)

Students whose drivers do not adhere to traffic rules will be issued a warning letter. Should this happen again, a final warning will be issued and on the third occasion the student will be suspended.  All parents should carry AWS identification cards for students pick up.

Attendance and Absence Procedures

Students are required to attend school faithfully. Students should never leave the school premises for any reason unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or teacher, after being properly "signed-out" at the School Office.

Whenever a student is absent from school for any reason, the following procedure should be followed. Firstly, parents should telephone the school office the first morning of the student's sickness to notify us of absence. This applies also to cases of bereavement, family illness, sudden emergencies, etc. In addition, upon return to school the student must bring a written explanation for absence. Requests for holiday or absence for engagements etc. must be made 3 clear days in advance. Approval is not automatic. If we feel that the education of the student may suffer, we may not approve it. We hope that you will appreciate that this is entirely for the benefit of your child’s education.

In order to encourage full school attendance, a 100% ‘Attendance Award’ is given to all students who achieve this. Attendance at all school events is mandatory in order to qualify for this award.

Parents should try to instill in their children the need to be regular at school.

Class work and tests

Parents are requested to sign their child’s diary daily in order to keep abreast of assignments if any .
Students should work to their full potential.

If a student experiences difficulty in completing an assignment with "good cause", the student's parent should explain the situation to the teacher with a short note in his or her diary.

When students have been absent for more than 20% of the term time they are not given An assessment report. In this case, the school will not be held responsible for the child's progress and there is a good chance that he/she will lose ground in class and have to repeat the year.

Students who are ill will not be allowed to come to school just to sit for tests or examinations.

Test and examination grades will be kept confidential and only disclosed to the concerned student's parents.

Private Tuition

Private tuition is not encouraged unless written permission is given by the Head of School.
Students taking private tuition from AWS teacher without written permission will be expelled immediately.

The school regularly arranges remedial classes for weak students.

Diary

School diary should be checked and signed by parents daily. It often contains important notices and information.

Respect for School and Personal Property

Students are required to be respectful of others' belongings, using them only with permission. A student who steals or damages any property not belonging to him/her may be required to make appropriate restitution. Though the school manages a "lost-and-found" area located at administration office, students are strongly encourages to take good care of their personal belongings. Parents should mark their child's special belongings with names and Roll numbers.

Students are required to use equipment and materials in school for their intended purposes only. They will be held accountable for proper care of school books, educational materials, school furniture, sports and laboratory equipment and their classrooms.

Parents of students who lose, damages, deface or destroy school property will be billed for such losses.

In addition, the student will be accorded appropriate punishment by the disciplining authority.
Students should make every effort to respect school property and keep it neat and clean at all times.

Students should not bring valuable items to school including expensive pens, jewellery, watches, electronic equipment (including mobile phones, CD's and CD players) and unreasonable amounts of cash. Students are encouraged not to bring sums of money to school unless absolutely necessary, nor should they lend  or borrow from other students. AWS will not bear responsibility for recovering any money that has been loaned or valuables that may be stolen.

Honesty and Respect for Others

Honesty, respect and trust are student virtues highly valued and encouraged at AWS.  Treat others with kindness, respect and courtesy.

Students should attempt to settle disagreements with others through discussion, asking for help if needed.

Students are to refrain from aggressive or threatening behaviour towards fellow students, teachers or other school staff. Fighting or rough play are strictly prohibited in school. If a student experiences a problem with another student, he or she should notify the nearest teacher or staff member immediately. Students should be instructed in ways to avoid getting involved in conflicts.

Any students caught cheating in a test or examination will be dealt with by the school disciplinary committee and may be suspended or expelled.

Fees and Payments

All fees and charges must be paid by stipulated due dates. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of enrolment.

The School reserves the right to change any fees or charges without prior notice.

Dress Code & Uniform

Students are expected to wear the correct and complete school uniform to school each day, as well as the sports / games uniform during games.

Neatness and cleanliness are encouraged. Uniform should be clean and pressed, shoes should be polished.

Parent Teacher Meetings

We believe in strong relationships with the parents and guardians of our pupils. Parent Teacher Meetings (PTM's) are held on monthly basis . Parents are invited to come and meet teachers to discuss their child’s progress. They are encouraged to use this opportunity to discuss any school related problem.
